Creator formation

Your income is real. Your legal name does not need to be attached to it.

Most creators think about an LLC after something goes wrong -- a bank account under review, a tax bill bigger than expected, or a subscriber finding a legal name that was never meant to be public. A US LLC fixes the structural problem behind all three: an individual account, an individual name, and an individual's personal liability standing behind a business that already has revenue.

What's included

  • LLC or C-Corp formation in the state you choose, in 1-2 business days
  • EIN from the IRS, no SSN needed, so a business bank account no longer has to run through your personal identity

  • Wyoming or New Mexico formation available, the two states that do not require member names in public filings
  • Guidance on the S-Corp election for creators past the income level where it starts saving real money
  • Form 5472 filing support if you are a foreign-owned single-member LLC

What an anonymous LLC actually does, and does not do

Three states keep your name off the public record -- Wyoming, New Mexico and Delaware

Most states publish LLC member and manager names in a searchable public database. Wyoming, New Mexico and Delaware do not require that disclosure in formation filings, meaning your legal name never has to appear next to your business the way it would in a state that does. Wyoming is the usual pick for creators specifically: no state income tax, a $60/year annual fee, and no requirement to list members anywhere in the formation documents.

Privacy is real, but it is not a force field

An anonymous LLC keeps your name out of public records -- it does not make you untraceable. Your bank still requires your real legal name and ID under federal KYC and beneficial-ownership rules before opening any business account, anonymous LLC or not. The IRS has your identity through the EIN application. A court or creditor with a valid legal reason to reach you is not stopped by state-level formation privacy. What it does stop is casual lookup -- a subscriber, a data broker, or a competitor searching a public business registry.

Banks are more comfortable with a registered entity than 'ambiguous online income'

Individual accounts receiving frequent, irregular payouts from content platforms draw more account review than a registered LLC with its own EIN receiving the same money as clearly-labeled business revenue. This is not specific to any one platform -- it is how banks treat unexplained personal-account activity generally under routine monitoring. A business account under a formed entity is simply a cleaner fact pattern to review.

How this works. NameMarshal is not a law firm or an accountancy practice, and nothing on this page is legal or tax advice. Formation, EIN and registered agent are delivered through NameMarshal's formation network. Anonymous-LLC privacy protects your public formation record, not your bank or tax filings -- ask a licensed professional about your specific liability and tax position. Foreign-owned US LLCs generally have to file Form 5472 with a pro-forma Form 1120 every year, even with no income, and the penalty for missing it is steep. Ask us and we will point you at someone licensed to handle it.
