Everything on this page is priced in Australian dollars, and we would rather be upfront about the details that actually matter to an Australian business: who can register what, whether GST applies, and where your site is actually served from.
.com.au is not the same as .com.
This trips people up, so we would rather explain it than let you find out at checkout. A .com.au or .net.au domain requires a verifiable Australian connection under auDA's rules. Extensions like .com, .ai, .io and .co have no such requirement and are open to anyone, anywhere.
- .com.au and .net.au need an ABN, ACN, or an Australian trademark. You will be asked for this detail during checkout, and it is checked against the rule, not just collected as a formality.
- No ABN yet? Register a .com, .ai, .io or .co today with no restriction, and add a .com.au once you are eligible.
- The rule is not ours. Every registrar selling .com.au enforces the same auDA requirement. It is not a NameMarshal policy, and we cannot waive it.

Prices above are shown in AUD for reference. If GST applies to your order, it is calculated and shown clearly at checkout rather than folded invisibly into the sticker price.
Our hosting infrastructure partner runs data centers in several countries, including one in Sydney. We are not going to claim your site is automatically served from Australia when we have not confirmed that for your specific order. If a local server matters to you, ask support before you check out and we will confirm what is available.
We would rather tell you what we have not verified than guess. Both of these are worth asking about if they affect your decision.
The renewal shock problem is not just a US thing.
